Energy Efficiency
Our triple glazed fixed models boast a system U Value (how effective a material is as an insulator) of 0.83W/m. This means you won’t have any unnecessary heat loss from our units, unlike most of our competitors who have a much higher U Value of around 1.2W/m. On average our units are 40% more efficient than required by Building Regulations.
Safety
When it comes to choosing a rooflight for your property, safety is an important factor. With this in mind, all our units are made from toughened soft coat (Low E) glass with an overall thickness of 46mm.
Fitting instructions
When installing your rooflight it is best to set at a slight gradient to allow water to run off the glass (we recommend to set the rooflight at a gradient of 50mm for every 1000mm). The kerb consists of 4 lengths of timber fixed to the roof forming a box-shaped kerb. Once the kerb has been fitted, you can apply felt or fibreglass up to the kerb, then silicone the top of the kerb which encapsulates the glass unit making it 100% watertight.
Our rooflights can be fitted by roofers, builders, or anyone that is confident in DIY. We will send you a fully illustrated fitting guide with a detailed diagram of the dimensions to ensure you have everything you need when fitting this high-quality rooflight.
